Coal-Based Clean Energy Utilization

1.COG to SNG technology
Xindi has successfully developed COG to LNG prereduction catalyst and process technology. Xindi has also developed multiple nickel-based catalysts which have good functions such as anti-hydration, high temperature resistance, sulfur tolerance and carbon deposite resistance, combining with high activity and high selectivity and initiated the combined catalyst filling technology. It has designed “Direct COG to SNG technology” and “Carbon-added COG to SNG technology”to meet the needs of different customers. The technology has applied for 12 national patents of invention. And it has passed the appraisal organized by the Research Findings Commercialization Center of Hebei Province in 2010 and has reached international advanced level.

Xindi has completed the ton-scale catalyst industrialization production, the 1,000Nm³/d pilot unit has been running smoothly for 10,000 hours, which lays the foundation for the industrialized application of COG to LNG technology.

新地能源工程技术有限公司The Xindi-designed Henan Jingbao COG to LNG project adopted the independently developed COG to LNG technology and methane synthetic catalyst。

The project has total investment of RMB 360 million with annual COG treatment capacity of 280 million m3 and annual LNG output of 94 million m3. The project was successfully put into production at one go in May 2013 and has been running smoothly for more than 2 years up to now, which is an enterprise that has been running safely and stably under full load condition for the longest time regarding the COG to LNG projects in China, even in the world. 

The Xindi-designed Tangshan Tangsteel Gases Co., Ltd. COG to LNG project adopted the independently developed CO2 -added COG to LNG technology. The synthesis process section used the nickel-based catalyst produced by Xindi, and the catalyst propective bed is filled with copper super desulfuration cleaning catalyst developed by Xindi, which significantly extends the life of the synthesis catalyst. The project’s annual COG processing capacity is 320 million m3, and the annual LNG output is 128 million m3. The project was successfully put into production at one go in August 2014, which has built up a successful example of carbon-added COG to LNG process.

Hegang Jiarun Energy Co., Ltd. project which adopted the COG to LNG technology and methane synthetic catalyst developed independently by Xindi was put into production in November 2014 with annual COG processing capacity of 264 million m3 and annual LNG output of 93 million m3. Qujing Yuntou COG to LNG project was put into production in April 2015 with annual COG processing capacity of 184 million m3 and annual LNG output of 56 million m3. Zaozhuang Xueneng Natural Gas Co., Ltd. Project has annual COG processing capacity of 560 million m3 and annual LNG output of 226 million m3. Shaanxi Beiqiang Energy Co., Ltd. Project has been in operation with annual COG processing capacity of 360  million m3 and annual LNG output of 140 million m3.


2.Wide hydrogen-carbon ratio synthetic natural gas technology
Xindi has developed the wide hydrogen-carbon ratio natural gas synthesis technology which can apply to various feed gas for synthetic natural gas.


Technical features and major technical performance:
1)The technology has a wide range of application, which can be used for various feed gas source to generate SNG, such as coke oven gas, semicoke tail gas, biomass synthetic gas and various coal-based synthetic gases with different furnaces, etc.

2)The post-decarbonization technology simplifies the technological process and reduces equipment investment。

3)The methane synthesis reaction temperature is controlled with combination process of steam, recycle gas and circulating liquid, which enhances the controllability of the reaction. Meanwhile, the wide hydrogen-carbon ratio increases methane content in the product gas.


3.Underground coal gasification gas to methanol technology
新地能源工程技术有限公司Xindi’s underground coal gasification gas to methanol technology realizes non-well underground coal gasification industrialization - methanol/methane co-production. It produces qualified methanol and methane synthetic gas with gas composition and flow regulation, pollutant control and purification process optimization, which skips primitive processes such as coal mining, transportation, crushing and on-ground gasification and so on and reduces the investment significantly. The cost of per ton methanol has lowered RMB 700-1,000 comparing with traditional medium-sized methanol plant, which provides a feasible way for on-site coal resource conversion.
